I’ve had a contact form here for many years, so that Mirabilis.ca readers could contact me. I’ve removed it for now, because I cannot get moronic social media marketing types to piss off and go away. They just never stop. At the top of my contact form, it said:

Please don’t send me press releases, or requests for advertising space on this site. I will not promote your product in any way.

Fairly clear, isn’t it? Well, I thought so, but I am forever getting crap from some self-centered marketing jerk who writes to say Hi, Christine! I just wanted to make sure you know about the new [book, movie, magazine, video, or other stupid thing] about [some topic the marketing spam department thinks you'll promote].

This disgusts me, and makes me want to get off the web altogether. I don’t have enough bad words in my vocabulary to tell you how I really feel about the people who send me this crap.

So I’m removing my contact form for now. I’m also going to change my email address in an attempt to get rid of this pond-scum collection of social media marketers.

Maybe I’ll find another way for you to contact me after I’ve had a few months’ holiday from marketers, and recovered some sanity. Or maybe it’s all over for me and the web.
