Apple’s Tim Cook on privacy

Apple has risen substantially in my estimation lately. Look at these articles from the Guardian:

And now this, from the Verge: Tim Cook: Silicon Valley’s most successful companies are selling you out.

Hurrah, Tim.

  1. As a long time Mac user I’m pleased that Apple is taking a firm line on user privacy. I feel that we are often forced to make difficult decisions regarding our privacy when signing up to new internet services and technologies so it’s encouraging that at least one of the big technological players is recognising this.

    • Yes, I’m very pleased to see this, too. Before long I’ll need to replace my dying phone. For the first time I’m considering an iPhone, because Apple seems to respect user privacy so much more than the Google folks do.
