Lentils are like corn plants. Have you ever noticed how the plants along the edge of a field of corn are straggly and stunted? A healthy corn plant needs lots of neighbors. I don’t know why. And so do lentil plants. One of the bits of info derived from growing up on a farm.
Which may be why her single lentil plant is having trouble growing. I wonder if company of other plants would help it flourish. She could clip the flowers of the surrounding plants so they wouldn’t cross fertilize.
